The Western Governors’ Species Conservation and Endangered Species Act Initiative was launched by WGA Chairman and Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead to: create a mechanism for states and stakeholders to share best practices in species management; promote the role of states in species conservation; and explore options for improving the efficacy of the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
The report synthesizes the information developed through the first year of the Initiative and organizes the ideas exchanged in Initiative workshops, webinars, case studies and questionnaires into six themes.
